Supporting Grief Encounter in the run up to Mother’s Day

We know that for most people, Mother’s Day is a time of celebration, but that for some, it’s a difficult time, including those who have lost their mother. That’s why in the run up to Mother’s Day this year, we are donation 10% of all sales to Grief Encounter.

Grief Encounter is a charity that provides free, professional services and support for bereaved children, young people and their families. They predominantly work in London, Bristol and Essex, providing a national reach through their helpline grieftalk.

“One child in every UK classroom will experience the death of someone close by the time they reach 16 years old. Grief Encounter is here to help with the confusion, fear, loneliness and pain, providing a lifeline to children and young people to cope with free, immediate, one-to-one support.” griefencounter.org.uk

They are currently receiving an unprecedented amount of calls to their grieftalk helpline, with an increasing number of people requiring their bereavement support services, and have also be working with many NHS workers, who have needed the charity at this critical time.

We would love to raise £26 in the run up to Mother’s Day, as this would pay for a grieftalk session with one of Grief Encounter’s professional counsellors.

Grief Encounter will also be holding their first ever “forget-me-not” walk on the 21st March. This is a remote fundraiser, where participants will walk in memory of a lost loved one, or in support of the thousands who have died during the COVID pandemic. Find out more here.

If you, or a young person close to you has been affected by the loss of a loved one, Grief Encounter’s grieftalk helpline can be reached on 0808 0802 0111 (weekdays 9am-9pm).
